In today’s news round-up, Milestone Systems has announced extended availability for the Milestone Husky Series of network video recorder appliances. These NVR appliances, pre-installed with Milestone’s XProtect® video management software (VMS), will be available in 2014 Q2 in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and in Q3 for Asia and Pacific regions. In corporate news, Roger Isler has been appointed as the new Sales Director and member of the Executive Board at SALTO Systems AG in Switzerland. He will be responsible for supporting strategic customers and products, and conducting product launches, such as the new Clay by SALTO.

In event news, Counter Terror Expo 2014 will be taking an international perspective, both within its free-to-attend exhibition and through one of its seminar workshops, the International Security for an Evolving World Theatre. In today’s news round-up, Oncam Grandeye and Sentry 360 have announced that they have settled their differences after litigating and negotiating the patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation claims alleged by Oncam Grandeye. Oncam Grandeye has agreed to dismiss the lawsuit without prejudice, and the parties will compete on the merits in benefit of the video surveillance industry. In application news, Raytec, MOBOTIX, and Farson Digital Watercams have teamed up to provide a state-of-the-art system designed to monitor river conditions in the UK, in the wake of devastating national flooding. The system has been deployed to try to minimise future damage and provide an early warning system to residents.

In events news, Arecont Vision is hosting a Customer Webinar on the 19th March. The webinar will include a presentation from Arecont Vision’s partner Digital Watchdog, and technical tips for WDR applications. Over in Seattle, management at the historic Paine Field airport is now relying on Morse Watchmans KeyWatcher Touch and KeyWatcher Illuminated key control and management system to ensure that new master keys are securely stored and accounted for. In today’s weekly news round-up, SourceSecurity.com was invited to the press unveiling of Western Digital’s newest storage product for the surveillance industry, WD Purple. WD Purple hard drives are designed and tested to surveillance-class standards and are compatible with industry-leading chassis and chip-set. In events news, Delta Scientific will be showcasing its new HD300 barrier at ISC West 2014. The HD300 – available with either a fully electric or hydraulic control unit - will stop a 15,000 pound (66.7 Km) vehicle travelling 50 mph (80 kpm).

In today’s weekly round-up, Dahua has announced that has formalised a partnership with Synology. Dahua’s full range of network cameras, including Dahua Pan–tilt–zoom (PTZ) domes will now be integrated with Synology NVRs. In corporate news, Network Video Technologies’ unique Limited Lifetime Warranty and Advance Replacement policy helped a large UK food production and packaging site with the replacement of an NVT video transmission hub free-of-charge, after 9 years of uninterrupted service.

The promotion makes Bosch Security Systems one of the few partners in the world to achieve this status. In events news, Teleste recently participated in the CSTB 2014 Forum in Moscow alongside Russian partner, Kontur-M. In today’s news round-up, Milestone XProtect open platform IP video management software (VMS) has been deployed to protect Bam Nuttall’s Highway Services Unit in the UK. The Milestone XProtect Smart Client interface gives front-end views on the laptops of authorised managers, and the Milestone Mobile client enables distribution of live and recorded video for around the clock monitoring. In corporate news, Wavestore has appointed Ian Denney as Business Development Manager. Ian will be working closely with installers and system integrators to identify new business opportunities for Wavestore.

In events news, IFSEC International has released results from an intensive research programme that has defined the needs of security installers. Research has proved that relocating the event to London in 2014 will attract a new audience from the south of England.
