In application news, Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham has chosen Castel to supply an IP-video intercom solution throughout its large modern hospital estate. The hospital required an intercom system that was future-proof and which had a range of intercom stations to provide solutions for different areas of the estate.

In events news, UTC Building & Industrial Systems is launching new video recording and management solutions at IFSEC 2014. UTC will introduce TruVision TVN 10, a plug-and-play entry-level network video recorder (NVR) featuring megapixel resolution. Over in Northern Ireland, alcohol and drug treatment charity Addiction NI has chosen to equip its staff with Guardian24’s lone working personal safety smartphone application. With the increase in lone working visits, Addiction NI decided they needed extra support to safeguard their workers at all times. In today’s news round-up, Teleste recently announced that it has been awarded the International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) certification from Loyd’s Register Quality Assurance. The globally recognised certification was granted to Teleste in March 2014 and proves Teleste’s high standards in developing, designing and manufacturing video surveillance solutions that meet the requirements of the railway industry. In events news, TDSi has announced that it will be taking part in three key presentations at IFSEC 2014, which is being held at its new venue at the ExCel London from 17th to 19th June 2014. The company will also be showcasing its latest integrated products and services throughout the event.

In today’s news round-up, Christie will showcase its latest innovations including a 2 by 2 video wall, composed of its Entero™ HB 80 inch SXGA+ high brightness display cubes at DistribuTECH 2014, which opens today. Over in Sweden, Teleste’s video management system has been included in Sweden’s National Traffic Management System. The project has been carried out by The Swedish Transport Administration (STA), and has already won the International Road Federation’s Global Road Achievement Awards.

In application news, Kelvin Hughes has announced that it has been contracted by VisSimto supply 11 SharpEye radar sets to protect offshore facilities in Azerbaijan. The company will provide 10 SBS-800-1 (3.7m antenna) systems for offshore production platforms in the Caspian Sea.
