On today’s news round-up, we take a look at security installations, which have been implemented around the world. Starting in New Zealand, CEM Systems has announced that its security management system has been selected to secure Farmers fashion department stores. Over in the city of London, a major banking facility has chosen Ingersoll Rand’s steel doorsets to refurbish the facility. Moving on to California, the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Airport has implemented a NICE Systems situation management solution to help with the coordination of the hub for all Los Angeles International airport’s operations and response activities.

Taking a look at events news, according to organisers of  this year’s Moscow International Exhibition Protection, Security and Fires Safety (MIPS), the show has confirmed its position as the largest and most well-established exhibition for the security industry in Eastern Europe and Russia in a market that has recovered well from the economic crisis. Lastly, ASIS International has launched a call for the submissions of presentations for its 11th European Security Conference & Exhibition, which will take place in London on 15-17 April 2012. Looking back at the top stories of the week, we start with NICE Systems, who will be implementing its IP video security solution with video analytics at China’s Tianjin Metro to enhance the safety and security of 23 stations along its Line 2 route. Over in Nuremberg railway station, Hikvision’s megapixel vandal-resistant dome cameras have been installed to protect travellers and provide the station operators with context-sensitive information. On the other side of the world, organisers of Secutech, the international trade fair for electronic and information security, and fire and safety industries, have announced the dates for next year’s show, which will be taking place in Taiwan.

Focusing on IFSEC 2011, Dallmeier won the prestigious award for “CCTV Camera Equipment of the Year” for its new “Panomera” HD camera technology at the IFSEC Awards. Elmdene International Limited was also a winner as it received the award for “Intruder Alarm or Exterior Deterrent Product of the Year” for its graffiti detector product. Lastly, Siqura has announced that its Siqura Academy will host its first technical training on June 15th and 16th, 2011 at the Security Experience Center (SEC) in Amsterdam. Read more security news…

Looking back at ISC West 2011, the second Mission 500 Security 5K Race proved to be a great success, as it raised more than $80,000 to sponsor children in need through the World Vision organisation.
