On today’s news round-up, Apollo has installed its fire detection system at Northern Ireland’s award winning Ulster Museum as part of a £17.5 million refurbishment programme. Over in North America, March Networks has announced that it has received orders totalling more than $2 million from a financial institution ranked among the top 15 largest in North America. The orders extend the bank’s current March Networks installation to more than 1,000 retail banking branches.

In events news, the British Security Industry Association’s (BSIA) Export Council has given an exclusive preview of what visitors can expect to see at this year’s Intersec exhibition, taking place in Dubai next week. Navtech has also announced that it will be showcasing its sophisticated AdvanceGuard wide-area surveillance solution, as well as enhancements to the witness processing system which drives and controls it. On today’s weekly round-up, we begin with Avigilon, who has installed its HD surveillance solution at the Rogers Centre, one of Toronto’s top tourist attractions. In New Jersey, Harrison Police Department has deployed IndigoVision’s IP video technology to improve its incident response. Moving to the healthcare sector, US hospital Brooke Army Medical Centre (BAMC) has upgraded its video surveillance capabilities, thanks to NICE Systems Ltd. Starting in New Zealand, CEM Systems has announced that its security management system has been selected to secure Farmers fashion department stores. Looking back at the top stories of the week, we start with NICE Systems, who will be implementing its IP video security solution with video analytics at China’s Tianjin Metro to enhance the safety and security of 23 stations along its Line 2 route. Over in Nuremberg railway station, Hikvision’s megapixel vandal-resistant dome cameras have been installed to protect travellers and provide the station operators with context-sensitive information.
