As the World Cup champions, Spain, celebrate their victory, we bring you news from Theia, who also played a small part in this year’s FIFA World Cup. Theia CCTV lenses were mounted on the Net-Cam system that became central in the controversy surrounding the referee call that denied England a goal against Germany on June 27. First up, in Madrid Axis’ network cameras have been chosen to improve passenger security on 2,300 of the city’s buses. So lets begin, first up, ASL is set to unveil their IVENCS integrated security solution at IFSEC. It is billed as the first in a new generation of 3D-based situation management and integrated control platforms. Also at in the limelight will be Samsung’s surveillance solutions. In light of the upcoming IFSEC show, Wavesight has announced that it will be demonstrating UK designed and manufactured technology capable of delivering high bandwidth video transmission over low power, unlicensed wireless bridges. Another show on the horizon is the ICT Security Africa Summit 2010. Attending the show will be the likes of Kenya ICT Board, Ecobank, Toyota, MTN Uganda, Nestle and Kenya National Audit Office.
On the application news front, Siemens divulge the suitability of their integrated security solution for power plants. Mobotix announces another successful installation of their network-based video security system at Vallé Academy of Performing Arts. And last but not least Avigilon’s HD surveillance system installed at Oklahoma’s County Sheriff’s Office saves more than $10 million annually in personnel costs.

First up G4s Wackenhut, manned security services provider is changing its name to G4S to reflect the company’s vision of providing comprehensive security solutions. Xtralis looks to develop new business opportunities with the appointment of VP of Sales for Europe, Mike Goodfellow. Integration is on the cards as CNL and Geoquip join forces to ensure Geoquip products such as Defensor are certified to work with CNL’s IPSecurityCenter software. Infinias has also announced the signing of Security Equipment Supply, Inc. (SES), Earth City, Missouri, as a distributor for the Intelli-M access control products in the United States.
Lastly, on the application side IndigoVision IP surveillance system is chosen by Moroccan manufacturer – Prodec to monitor its factory and HQ in Casablanca and its branch network throughout Morocco.
