Over in Russia, Bosch has installed a state-of-the-art security system including fire prevention, public address, evacuation and video surveillance technologies at Moscow’s famous Bolshoi Theatre. On today’s news round-up, Anixter and Iomega will be bringing Iomega’s StoreCenter network storage products to the video surveillance market. Samsung has carried out saltwater tests on its external dome cameras to ensure they can withstand exposure when they are deployed as part of a port’s video surveillance system or are used for other security projects located close to the sea. Also in corporate news, Jon Pincus has recently joined Accellion, Inc. as Senior Vice President, Products. In this role, Pincus will oversee Engineering and Product Management for the company.

Digimerge Technologies has developed a videos page on its website, complete with a growing collection of demo videos, to assist with product training. In events news, LILIN has launched the first standalone NVR, which enables simultaneous recording of 16 HD IP video channels, at IFSEC 2012. On today’s news round-up, during the recent IFSEC 2012 tradeshow, organisers of the show announced the winners of the IFSEC International Security Industry Awards 2012. Amongst the winners was Siemens, who picked up an award for Security Project or Security Installation of the Year. For those attending the Airport Show 2012 taking place in Dubai over the new few days, CEM Systems will be on hand, showcasing its airport-specific access control solution - CEM AC2000 AE (Airport Edition). At the 36th Annual IACP LEIM Conference and Exposition Indianapolis, IN, CNL Software will be delivering a workshop focusing on “Best Practices in Citywide Surveillance for Urban Security and Smart Cities” alongside Cisco Systems.
