On today’s news round-up, the Undersea Defence Technology (UDT) 2011, which took place at Excel London from 6-7 June, was visited by a large number of delegates from 47 countries. At Electronic Security Expo (ESX) 2011, Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) added features and generated RMR for Central stations. In the meantime, at Le Mans 24 Hours 2011, RML AD Group finished fourth, yet it felt almost as good as winning all over again.

Looking back at the top stories of the week, we start with NICE Systems, who will be implementing its IP video security solution with video analytics at China’s Tianjin Metro to enhance the safety and security of 23 stations along its Line 2 route. Over in Nuremberg railway station, Hikvision’s megapixel vandal-resistant dome cameras have been installed to protect travellers and provide the station operators with context-sensitive information. On the other side of the world, organisers of Secutech, the international trade fair for electronic and information security, and fire and safety industries, have announced the dates for next year’s show, which will be taking place in Taiwan.

Focusing on IFSEC 2011, Dallmeier won the prestigious award for “CCTV Camera Equipment of the Year” for its new “Panomera” HD camera technology at the IFSEC Awards. Elmdene International Limited was also a winner as it received the award for “Intruder Alarm or Exterior Deterrent Product of the Year” for its graffiti detector product.
