The range will provide solutions for the transport, retail and enterprise markets. In application news, Milestone Systems has implemented its XProtect® video management software throughout a chain of KFC, Pizza Hut, Carl’s Jr and Starbucks locations in New Zealand. The installations were introduced to reduce the number of thefts and measure the day-to-day operations efficiently.

Also in application news, NEDAP’s SENSIT parking system is enhancing parking services and safety for visitors of shopping malls, airports and train stations worldwide. SENSIT has proven to be a valuable tool in parking enforcement by monitoring the real-time usage of individual parking spaces. Over in the US, Dallmeier recently deployed Panomera® multifocal sensor technology to secure the Veterans’ Day “Concert for Valor” in Washington D.C. In today’s weekly news round-up, Vanderbilt Industries recently announced that it will focus its market identity on the Vanderbilt name brand. Following Vanderbilt Industries’ announcement of the pending acquisition of Siemens’ Security Products, the new entity, renamed Vanderbilt International GmbH, will begin to utilise the Vanderbilt name, creating a common company brand identity for both the North American and European business units. Also in corporate news, Schneider Electric has partnered with ASSA ABLOY Access Control UK to enhance its Continuum building management system. ASSA ABLOY’s latest Aperio® wireless cylinders, PINpad escutcheon and L100 have been integrated into the Schneider Electric access control product line.

In application news, Traka has installed a smart access management system at one of the UK’s leading rail companies, Southeastern. Traka developed a bespoke access management system in which keys are permanently attached to an iFob, which locks into an automated key dispensing machine. Also in the UK, IDIS has announced the appointment of Billy Hopkins to the role of Regional Sales Manager. Lastly, Genetec recently announced a new partnership with automated payment systems manufacturer VenTek. Also in corporate news, PSA Security Network recently announced a new vendor partnership with Alertus Technologies. The Alertus Notification System provides “one-touch” instant command and control of all enterprise alerting modalities throughout large area, high-occupancy facilities.

Over in Brazil, ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire lock company Silvana and steel fire door company Metalika. The acquisitions significantly increase the Group’s footprint in Brazil. Also recently merged are Tyco International Ltd. and Tyco International plc, a company incorporated under the laws of Ireland. As a result of the merger, each shareholder of Tyco International Ltd. received one share of Tyco International plc for each share of Tyco International Ltd. held immediately prior to the merger. Finally, in events news, OPTEX will be exhibiting its complete detection and access control solutions at the upcoming Transport Security Expo next week. In today’s news round-up, the HDcctv Alliance is announcing a new global standard of HD analogue, HDCVI 2.0, which is based on Dahua’s HDCVI technology. The standard aims to provide a stringent level of certification among manufacturers. As the HDCVI technology inventor and patent owner, Dahua introduced the milestones of the HDCVI development. Also in corporate news, IDIS has formed a technology partnership with wireless networking solutions specialist SilverNet. The partnership has seen customers utilising SilverNet’s products to deliver wirelessly networked DirectIP™ surveillance solutions to deliver tangible cost savings.

Also announcing a new technology partnership are Videalert and Wavestore. The partnership will enhance the level of interoperability achieved between Videalert’s Intelligent Digital Video Platform and Wavestore’s video management software. In events news, SALTO is set to exhibit at Transport Security Expo in London from Tuesday 2nd December to Wednesday 3rd December 2014. The show is the perfect location for SALTO to showcase their wide range of contactless access control solutions which are already used by Heathrow Airport, British Airways, DHL, Munich Airport, Ireland West Airport Knock and many more. Finally, ASUSTOR Inc. has announced that it has joined AXIS’s Application Development Partner (ADP) Program.
