In today’s news round-up, ASSA ABLOY Group brands SARGENT and McKinney have been honoured with Product Innovation Awards (PIAs) at this year’s Greenbuild 2013. SARGENT was awarded for its BHW Trim and IN120 WiFi Access Control Lock, and McKinney for its new Square Barrel Hinge. Over in Brazil, Cassidian has announced details of its new Brazilian subsidiary, Optronbras Ltda. Optronbras will build up its own engineering and manufacturing structures, as well as enter the local market for optical and optronic devices. In corporate news, Pilgrims Group has appointed David Peploe as Director of Global Operations. Peploe’s background includes seventeen years in military and government roles and thirteen years in corporate risk management.
