In today’s news round-up, AxxonSoft has recently announced the opening of an office in Casablanca, Morocco. The new office in Morocco’s most populous city is the latest step in the company’s long-term plans for expansion in the country, encouraged by growing opportunities on the North Africa market. Over in China, Ningxia Zhongwei Tianjingshan has chosen to deploy four of IndigoVision’s NVR-AS 3000s and a total of 80 encoders as part of their new security system. The solution from IndigoVision was chosen for its advanced H.264 compression technology, which allows the power station to transmit footage to a remote control room at ultra-low bandwidth.

In corporate news, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has awarded a study to Airbus Defence and Space to examine the feasibility of using the latest radar technology for better air traffic management. Airbus Defence and Space started to develop the passive radar solution in 2006 and has already demonstrated a working system. In application news, Green Gate Access Systems has installed the UK’s very first solar O&O barriers at Warwick Hospital. Green Gate Access Systems installed two O&O ‘up and down’ car-park barriers at the main entrances, with a GSM intercom linked to the facilities office.
