On today’s news round-up, Apollo has installed its fire detection system at Northern Ireland’s award winning Ulster Museum as part of a £17.5 million refurbishment programme. Over in North America, March Networks has announced that it has received orders totalling more than $2 million from a financial institution ranked among the top 15 largest in North America. The orders extend the bank’s current March Networks installation to more than 1,000 retail banking branches.

In events news, the British Security Industry Association’s (BSIA) Export Council has given an exclusive preview of what visitors can expect to see at this year’s Intersec exhibition, taking place in Dubai next week. Navtech has also announced that it will be showcasing its sophisticated AdvanceGuard wide-area surveillance solution, as well as enhancements to the witness processing system which drives and controls it. TDSi will also be at Intersec 2012, demonstrating how organisations can benefit from the integration of its new EXgarde product with Texecom’s Premier range of intruder alarm system panels. On the mid-week round-up, Infinova has announced that it will introduce a new family of ONVIF standard IP and megapixel cameras that will help integrators more easily provide their customers with solutions at the upcoming IFSEC 2011. VideoIQ is celebrating achieving a record growth in 2010 with new HD product releases and partnership deals. GKB Security is also on a high as its video fire detection system wins the Taiwan Excellence Award for 2010.

In other news, Q1 Labs has announced details of a successful project at BGL Group that has helped to drastically reduce volume of false security alerts.
