In events news, visitors will be able to view and experience the very latest security solutions from the world’s leading armoured vehicle suppliers within a dedicated Armoured and Support Vehicle area at this year’s Counter Terror Expo 2014, taking place in London. Axis Communications will be at the show to demonstrate how video surveillance helps to protect people, property and assets as well as optimise processes and improve efficiency, when it exhibits at the Counter Terror Expo in April. In today’s news round-up, Axis Communications announced that it has entered the physical access control market by introducing a network door controller with built-in web-based software. The AXIS A1001 Network Door Controller is a complement to Axis’ existing portfolio of innovative network video products and creates unique integration possibilities for partners and end users. In application news, Tavcom has completed a major upgrade of the CCTV training facilities at its Bishops Waltham training centre. Analogue and digital equipment has been provided by Samsung Techwin, Dallmeier, IDIS and Axis for students who train for one of Tavcom’s BTEC certificated CCTV courses.

In corporate news, CNL Software has recently announced its integration with Digital Sentry, the flexible IP Video Management System from Pelco. The two companies are currently collaborating on a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) solution and a corporate solution for a blue chip PSIM projects. In other corporate news, NSI and Facewatch have partnered to help transform the use of CCTV into the digital world of online reporting. NSI will be adding the Facewatch online police crime reporting service to their training offer. Finally, Pyronix has appointed David Ward to its growing marketing team as Product Manager. In today’s news round-up, Cassidian will showcase its defence and security solutions at the MAKS 2013 International Aviation & Space Salon in Moscow.  Products to be exhibited will include its missile warning system MILDS AN/AAR-60, which is able to detect the presence and direction of incoming missile threats. In corporate news, The International Women’s Media Foundation has recently launched the first ever global survey regarding concerns over the security of female journalists. The survey, created in conjunction with the International News Safety Institute, will produce much needed data on the challenges faced by women in news media around the world.

Over in Israel, Valens has become a Steering Member of the high definition surveillance standard body HDcctv Alliance. It is hoped that the company’s participation will accelerate worldwide migration to HD surveillance. In other corporate news, Facewatch has appointed Michael Gordon Gibson to its Senior Management team. Michael will oversee the delivery of Facewatch’s service to several national and international police forces. Finally, Integrated Systems Events is to hold its Smart Building Conference in London on Tuesday 15 October.
