In today’s news round-up, Nedap has announced the integration of the Honeywell NOTIFIER fire alarm system within its security management platform AEOS. The integration is beneficial as it enables users to react faster in case of a fire alarm and allows for an automatic response to events. In application news, SALTO Certificated Partner, Allgood plc, has provided an integrated security system to Pioneer School in Basildon, Essex, which specialises in teaching students with severe disabilities. The task which was to provide a secure environment without restricting the movement of students within the building was met with Allgood’s system of access control, ironmongery, automated doors and CCTV.

In other application news, Lumidigm has announced that its security products have been deployed at the South Korea’s busiest airports and seaports. The state-of-the-art immigration clearance process features SMARTCORE multi-biometric acquisition stations using Lumidigm multispectral imaging sensors, which scan both index fingers of a traveller simultaneously. Over in New Zealand, an ACTi and Exacq Technologies integrated security system has been installed at a local tavern. The Duke of Gloucester was fitted with KCM-3311*18 units and KCM-5611*6 units, running on ExacqVision software, for indoor and outdoor monitoring. Finally, Ingersoll Rand has launched an EMEA-wide sales organisation for its CISA hotel security brand. In today’s weekly news round-up, Tyco Security Products has reached an agreement to acquire Exacq Technologies. The acquisition is expected to complement Tyco Security Products’ video technology portfolio while strengthening its presence in the video security market. In application news, Bosch Security Systems is supporting Milan’s new driverless metro line 5 with a security solution that combines video surveillance and public-address communication for managing passenger information and evacuation measures. The installation included 400 vandal resistant FlexiDome cameras, 10-bit digital processing technology, video and audio signal transmission encoders and ten iSCSI storage units.

In other application news, Dahua HD network cameras have been used to enhance security at BMCI bank in Morocco. Dahua megapixel HD network cameras were installed, as well as hybrid DVRs. In corporate news, new pan-European research commissioned by Security Products from Siemens has found that a clear majority of consumers do not believe that the widespread use of CCTV infringes on people’s civil liberties.
