In today’s news round-up, IHS reported that global unit shipments of smart cards are expected to rise by 2.1 billion from 2014 through 2019 — about equal to the combined populations of China, the United States, Indonesia and Brazil. In application news, VIVOTEK IP cameras have been deployed in a factory based in India. A total of 96 IP cameras across 12 models were installed in the factory to help monitor entrance and exit points, as the vicinity sees a multitude of large trucks with trailers and other vehicles.

On today’s news round up, we begin by taking a look back at IFSEC 2011. At the IFSEC 2011 Security Industry Awards, electronic security and fire products manufacturer, Elmdene International Limited, received the award for “Intruder Alarm or Exterior Deterrent Product of the Year” for its graffiti detector product.
