In today’s news round-up, Milestone Systems has announced extended availability for the Milestone Husky Series of network video recorder appliances. These NVR appliances, pre-installed with Milestone’s XProtect® video management software (VMS), will be available in 2014 Q2 in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and in Q3 for Asia and Pacific regions. In corporate news, Roger Isler has been appointed as the new Sales Director and member of the Executive Board at SALTO Systems AG in Switzerland. He will be responsible for supporting strategic customers and products, and conducting product launches, such as the new Clay by SALTO.

In today’s news round-up, Traka recently debuted its iPad Locker at The BETT Show 2014. The company received a positive response from members of the education sector searching for solution that could protect iPads from theft and damage. In application news, a housing complex located in Denmark has deployed a combined IQinVision and Milestone IP video surveillance system to improve safety and reduce vandalism. The housing development has deployed 248 IQeye cameras  managed by Milestone’s XProtect VMS software. 

Over in Sweden, Axis communications has announced its Q4 year-end report for 2013, showing a net sales increase of 10% in that quarter, and a 13% overall increase for the year. In corporate news, Eaton’s security business has promoted Orlaith Palmer to the role of sales and marketing managerto develop its specification and specialist distribution channels. Finally, a new report from IHS forecasts the growth of Africa’s security and surveillance market to $200 million this year.
