In today’s news round-up, we start with a number of new IFSEC 2014 announcements. This year’s event will see Western Digital exhibit its WD Purple Hard Drives, specifically designed for the surveillance market. Demonstrating why WD Purple is the right choice for surveillance, WD will be running operational demonstrations of three different, application specific, hard drives. Tyco Security Products will return to this year’s show with a full and innovative technology portfolio, including products from DSC, American Dynamics and Visonic. Also at IFSEC International, a full range of affordable, accessible and innovative security products from FLIR Systems will be on show.

In application news, Bosch fire alarm systems, public address and evacuation technology and a comprehensive video surveillance system have all been installed at the Radisson Blu Resort & Congress Centre in Sochi. Bosch’s technology is integrated and centrally managed via the Bosch Building Integration System (BIS). Finally, SALTO has announced its support for World Environment Day, which is celebrated globally on 5th June each year. SALTO uses digital communications instead of paper to conserve trees and help minimise environmental impact. Read more security news…
