Over in Indonesia, the new Hotel Melawai has selected Bosch FlexiDome VDC445V04-10 cameras and Advantage Line VDC-260V04-10 dome cameras as part of its 24-hour surveillance system. The Bosch cameras were chosen for the high-quality day and night imaging needed for around-the-clock surveillance of the hotel compound. In other corporate news, ASUSTOR has recently announced the launch of its online store, providing users with a one-stop shop for all ASUSTOR NAS accessories. In today’s news round-up, Integrated Security Design Ltd (ISD-Tech), has installed 600 channels of surveillance video at over 30 solar farms across the UK. NVT’s technology has been integrated at the sites to provide the best of both analogue CCTV and digital video transmission solutions. In corporate news, LEGIC Identsystems Ltd has gained another important license partner with ASSA ABLOY (Switzerland) Ltd to develop new contactless locking systems. ASSA ABLOY is delighted that the future contactless KESO lock system will be developed based on their technology.

In other corporate news, SNB Middle East, AxxonSoft partner and authorised distributor, will hold a technical training to train those involved in video surveillance. The workshop aims to build up each participant’s overall understanding of AxxonSoft’s technology. In events news, IndigoVision will be at ASIS booth #877 to cover information on how to integrate analogue and digital cameras, and improve the aesthetic appearance of HD surveillance. In today’s weekly news round-up, ASSA ABLOY’s 580 electric lock has been installed on doors at Stockholm’s Karolinska University Hospital, maintaining secure access protection while allowing rapid evacuation and re-entry. After a successful pilot project on 20 doors, the technology is now being implemented on 350 doors across the hospital. In corporate news, Dahua Technology has joined the HDcctv Alliance as a Steering Member and taken positions on the body’s board of directors. The company hopes that its participation will help to accelerate the worldwide migration to HD surveillance.

In application news, AxxonSoft and VisionxIP have completed the installation of a Safe City municipal video surveillance system in Rio Gallegos, Argentina. The project combines Axxon Next software with hardware from VisionxIP and is managed by a situation centre which responds quickly to events. Over in Latvia, DIGIEVER and VIVOTEK have partnered to supply the security system for a plywood factory. In addition to using it as a security tool, the factory is using the system to improve the efficiency of its manufacturing processes. Finally, Axis Communications, PROTECT and Milestone Systems have collaborated on a fog security system. In today’s news round-up, security industry professionals have spoken out in defence of ‘zero-hours’ contracts, following a pledge from the Government to review such arrangements. In a recent British Security Industry Association survey, 79.2% of the BSIA’s members agreed with the concept of zero hours contracts, citing increased flexibility and the ability to meet unexpected demand as key benefits. In other application news, Axis Security has been awarded a contract to provide CCTV monitoring and access control to the British Pipeline Agency control centre in Kingsbury, Staffordshire. The project will start with an initial monitoring of three stations and will extend to the remaining 13 stations by 2015, once system installations are complete. In corporate news, a new IMS Research report, entitled “The World Market for CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment” predicts that revenue for network video will overtake analogue for the first time in 2014. Analogue cameras are still forecast to continue outselling network cameras in terms of number purchased until 2017. Finally, API Holographics has completed the first phase of redevelopment at its Salford site.
