In today’s news round-up, Dahua Technology will introduce its HDCVI Gen II cameras at this week’s Security China 2014, which opens tomorrow in Beijing. The HDCVI Gen II camera features a high performance sensor and Dahua in-house chipset DH5000, which combines Image Signal Processor (ISP) and TX chipset. In application news, mining giant Rio Tinto is now using IndigoVision’s video technology to control over 200 driverless trucks to move 130 million tons of material from the safety of a control base.

In today’s news round-up, Dahua Technology has the 2nd largest market share in video surveillance according a report by IHS. Dahua’s global market share in terms of DVR and network security cameras were ranked as runner-up and 4th place respectively. Also in corporate news, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has reinforced the role played by security firms in delivering cost savings to police forces across the UK. Continued partnerships between the police and private security firms have helped forces across the country reduce costs in the face of public sector budget cuts, the BSIA said.

Over in France, Videotec has moved its French branch of business to the outskirts of Paris. Previously based close to Rouen, the branch is now moving to the “Parc d’Activité de Courtabœuf”, one of the largest industrial areas to the south of the capital. Across the Atlantic, ADT has closed the acquisition of Reliance Protectron from Reliance Comfort Limited Partnership in Canada.
