In today’s news round-up, HID Global has released an infographic illustrating the results of a survey it conducted on physical access control. The survey of 600 respondents revealed enterprise end users’ perceptions about the importance of industry best practices and how well organisations feel they can defend against increasingly dangerous and costly security threats. Over in the Middle East, Airbus Defence and Space has been awarded a contract for the delivery of an additional four Spexer 2000 security radars to further improve the surveillance of the borders of a major Middle Eastern country. The contract is an extension to an existing order for more than 40 Spexer 2000 radars, which have been operating successfully for almost two years.

On today’s news round-up, global provider of IP intelligent video solutions March Networks has announced two separate contract wins totalling $6.2 with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). One is a $2.6 million deal to equip more than 200 buses with its Mobile Solution and the other a five-year, $3.6 million Managed Services contract to provide OCTA with video system health monitoring services across its entire 850-bus fleet.
