The new security system covers an area of approximately 300 acres, with over 16,000 people working on site in any 24-hour period and around 23 million visitors each year. In corporate news, Avigilon has recently announced its second quarter financial results. Financial highlights from the report include a 61% increase in revenue from $24.4 million to $39.2 million and a 159% increase in net income compared to Avigilon’s 2012 second quarter results.

In today’s news round-up, Dallmeier’s Panomera sensor system has been installed at the ProKart Raceland Karting Circuit in Germany to provide surveillance for international karting championship races. Five Panomera multifocal sensor systems deliver a panoramic overview through more than 180°, covering the entire racing circuit from a single installation position. In other application news, a DirectIP HD surveillance solution from IDIS has been deployed by Albert Heijn supermarket in the Netherlands. The store now has sixteen DirectIP HD cameras with a 32-channel NVR featuring a 24-port PoE switch.

In events news, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) launched its new Lone Worker Section at this year’s IFSEC International 2013. The launch event brought together professionals from across the security industry and also featured the election and announcement of the first official Section Chairman, Patrick Dealtry. Also at IFSEC, CIVINTEC demonstrated its Intelligent Access Control Solution.
