On today’s weekly round-up, Avigilon has announced that it has received two BC Export Awards: “Exporter of the Year” and “Top Exporter” in the Advancing Technology Category. Chubb security has donated an 18th century prison door, formerly used at Newgate Prison, to the Museum of London to ensure its future preservation.  In the US, Arecont has provided surveillance solutions to Orlando Infiniti in order to prevent after-hours theft of luxury vehicles.

Over in China, Chongqing is upgrading its security systems with the help of Hikvision and Infinova. Hikvision announced a contract renewal of Chongqing’s safe city programme, a project to upgrade and expand the city’s surveillance system. Safeguarding Chongqing’s metro line are over 700 Infinova cameras located at the platforms, station centres and inside the train cars. On today’s mid-week round-up, ABP Technology has announced that it will be distributing Basler’s IP camera series throughout the Americas. In response to the heightened threat of internal and external terrorist activities, Octavian Security is expanding its Canine Division for the detection of explosives. As the industry prepares for Security Essen 2010, we bring you the latest news from it. Members of the British Security Industry Association will be showcasing an exclusive preview of the access control systems at the show, while ONVIF has confirmed that it will be hosting a demonstration of interoperable IP surveillance products there on October 7. In addition, ABUS will introduce two new network digital recorders at the show.
