At the top of the security news pile today, the Brazilian Federal Police has announced the deployment of a TETRAPOL IP network from EADS Defence and Security in the state of Ceara. The hosts of INDESEC Expo 2010 have declared the event, which focussed on security solutions for the government of India, a “grand success”.
In the UK, Bedford Borough Council has implemented an X-Series platform from Mirasys Ltd to monitor its CCTV infrastructure, while Exacq has announced the integration of its video surveillance software with SANYO’s high definition cameras. On the news round-up this week, Mike Newton, CEO of CCTV specialists AD Group, came fourth in Round 4 of the 2010 Le Mans Series at the Hungaroring, driving for the RML AD Group. RML AD Group are currently top of the LMP 2 Class standings with the final race due to take place at Silverstone this month. In event news, Siemens will be showcasing its latest integrated security management system, Siveillance Fusion, at Security 2010 in Essen.
Axis Communications has launched a series of online training courses, teaching users about the latest developments in IP surveillance technology at their “Axis Communications Academy”, while Infinova has announced that its pressurised PTZ dome cameras are being employed in a ship-overlooking capacity at the Panama Canal. Honeywell was chosen to install an integrated building management solution at two college campuses in Cheshire.
eneo revealed that it will be displaying a range of IP cameras and software solutions at the upcoming Security Essen 2010 conference. Also at the show, Samsung will be showcasing all its latest products, including developments in CCTV, access control and intruder detection. Looking back over the past week, we have had quite a few interesting applications – the ‘Metal Mickey’ is going to watch over life-boats, Rainbow CCTV customised surveillance cameras for HSBC’s all-glass buildings in Mexico, a MOBOTIX CCTV solution strolls through the Crossgates Community Gardens, and SCORE! Sony’s CCTV surveillance scores at the FC Porto Dragão Stadium.
