In corporate news, Foxstream has announced a partnership with Samsung Techwin. In today’s news round-up, Oncam Grandeye continues its Asian expansion with the opening of a new office in Delhi. The company formally launched its regional office in India at an event held on 14th October at the British High Commissioner’s residence. In other corporate news, the BSIA has called for increased engagement in CCTV standards development. In a letter to business leaders in the CCTV sector, the BSIA’s Technical Director, Alex Carmichael, has outlined a number of forthcoming changes set to affect the CCTV landscape which often go on to form the basis of new standards.

In today’s news round-up, TDSi will showcase its range of integrated security solutions at the 2014 Norbain Roadshow (North). Visitors will be shown how TDSi’s EXgarde access control software and VUgarde video monitoring system can work together as a full overview security solution, administered through a centralised portal. In application news, Axis Communications’ Q1931-E thermal network cameras have been installed at a photovoltaic solar park in Bologna. In today’s news round-up, with Conference season upon us, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has been busy championing the views of the private security industry; planning and attending meetings with MPs, Ministers, Peers, PCCs and think tanks at the Labour and Conservative party conferences. With Security Essen now over, the next security tradeshow is just about to begin: ASIS International kicks off today in Atlanta, Georgia. In today’s news round-up, HID Global is providing students with access to its Trusted Tag Services as part of a partnership programme with Chapman University in Orange County, California. The partnership programme is aimed at challenging the students to identify key market opportunities and develop an action plan to expand the influence of HID Global’s Trusted Tag Services. In today’s news round-up, IHS reported that global unit shipments of smart cards are expected to rise by 2.1 billion from 2014 through 2019 — about equal to the combined populations of China, the United States, Indonesia and Brazil. In application news, VIVOTEK IP cameras have been deployed in a factory based in India. A total of 96 IP cameras across 12 models were installed in the factory to help monitor entrance and exit points, as the vicinity sees a multitude of large trucks with trailers and other vehicles.
