In today’s news round-up, Bosch video surveillance solutions have been deployed in the MesseTurm high-rise building in Frankfurt to protect tenants, visitors and suppliers. The video solution is operated via three comfortable operator workstations, giving security personnel a clear view of all protected areas at all times. Bosch’s surveillance solutions have also been deployed across all Yves Rocher outlets in ThailandThe Bosch VDC-260 cameras are used in each outlet to monitor the cashier, entrance and display shelves. The cameras are connected to a Bosch DVR-480 recording unit that enables real-time digital recording.

In other application news, ASSA ABLOY Mobile Access for Hospitality went live recently when Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. introduced SPG® Keyless, a keyless entry system allowing Starwood Preferred Guest® members to use their smartphone as a key. In today’s news round-up, Panasonic surveillance cameras are being used by DCNS at the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium. DNCS has installed a structured network consisting of a fibre cable backbone and a wireless network on the festival site. In the UK, the Environment Agency has deployed ES2 disaster warning sirens to warn of dangers at Chesil Beach in Dorset, England. The alarm sirens can be initiated either remotely from the Environment Agency’s incident room via the web, from the Environment Agency’s lookout post in the village by radio or independently using a key at each installation.

In corporate news, ISM has announced Penta Techsecure as its business development partner in the Middle East. Based in Dubai, Penta Techsecure is also the regional partner for Bosch, Senstar, KBC Networks and Commend. Over in Texas, TRI-ED will host free, one-day roadshows this autumn. In today’s news round-up, we start with a number of new IFSEC 2014 announcements. This year’s event will see Western Digital exhibit its WD Purple Hard Drives, specifically designed for the surveillance market. Demonstrating why WD Purple is the right choice for surveillance, WD will be running operational demonstrations of three different, application specific, hard drives. AxxonSoft partner Andy demonstrated the Axxon Next video management system, as well as a pre-release of version 3.5 of the software. In today’s news round-up, HID Global has recently announced that it has joined the Secure Identity Alliance, the industry’s reference body for secure documents and eServices. Through the Alliance, the company hopes to play an instrumental role in helping governments streamline the integration of new systems and processes. Over in China, through its International Partners Program, Bosch will collaborate with Hikvision in a long-term, strategic partnership.
