Also in corporate news, Genetec has announced the appointment of Canadian businessman Georges Karam to Chief Commercial Officer. In application news, ASSA ABLOY Mobile Access for Hospitality went live recently when Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. introduced SPG® Keyless, a keyless entry system allowing Starwood Preferred Guest® members to use their smartphone as a key. Over in Germany, Bosch video surveillance solutions have been deployed in the MesseTurm high-rise building in Frankfurt to protect tenants, visitors and suppliers. The video solution is operated via three comfortable operator workstations, giving security personnel a clear view of all protected areas at all times. Finally, SALTO is set to exhibit at Transport Security Expo in London from Tuesday 2nd December to Wednesday 3rd December 2014. In today’s news round-up, Mobotix AG has released details of its technology partnership with icomply. icomply will fully integrate MOBOTIX technology into the V-TAS Pro software platform to enable seamless control of the entire MOBOTIX range. In other corporate news, Brian Wiser has been named President of Sales – North America for Bosch Security Systems. Brian will lead the sales, support, training, customer service and marketing organisations in North America.

In events news, Allegion will showcase its ENGAGE technology-enabled Schlage NDE Series wireless electronic locks at ASHE 2014, which opened yesterday in Chicago. ENGAGE enabled wireless locks can be integrated into most popular access control systems for greater capabilities, including real-time control. Over in Latin America, the video surveillance equipment market is forecast to see annual average growth rates of over 14%, according to IHS. The total Latin American market for CCTV and video surveillance equipment is estimated to have been worth $565.3 million in 2013. Finally, Navtech Radar is now the world leading supplier of radar based Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS) for airports. In today’s weekly news round-up, Seagate Technology will be showcasing its complete surveillance storage portfolio for safety, security and video analytics at this year’s IFSEC 2014, which takes place next week in London. Also at IFSEC, HID Global will showcase its portfolio of solutions to create, manage and use secure identities for a number of vertical markets.

In application news, Hangzhou city’s Safe City project has been upgraded by Dahua’s latest IP video surveillance solutions. There are 32 local police stations equipped with Dahua IP surveillance systems, collecting video from over 3,000 cameras installed at intersections, tunnels, metro entrances, school gates and other public locations. Over in Russia, Bosch fire alarm systems, public address and evacuation technology and a comprehensive video surveillance system have all been installed at the Radisson Blu Resort & Congress Centre in Sochi. Finally, Milestone Systems has announced details of its Milestone Learning Portal, an online education tool which will train and certify industry professionals on the technical and commercial details of Milestone products. In today’s news round-up, Milestone Systems has announced its elevation of Bosch Security Systems to the status of Elite Partner in the Milestone Alliance Partner programme (MAP). The promotion makes Bosch Security Systems one of the few partners in the world to achieve this status. In events news, Teleste recently participated in the CSTB 2014 Forum in Moscow alongside Russian partner, Kontur-M. At the event, Teleste presented the PRO MPEG FEC functionality of their reliable Luminato headend platform with a LIVE demo.

In application news, an integrated security and communications system from Bosch has been deployed at The Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. The installation includes 192 NDC455, VG4 and VG5 series cameras.

In today’s news round-up, a new partnership between Bosch Security Systems and Streaming Networks will deliver integrated license plate recognition functionality within the Video Management System (VMS) v4.5 from Bosch. The companies are working together to give customers greater capabilities for gathering vehicle information as part of their security surveillance infrastructure. In today’s news round-up, Traka management systems are being used by BT to track keys at its £90m flagship International Data Centre in Cardiff Bay, Wales. Operations at the centre are supported by security measures which ensure access to the building is restricted to authorised personnel. In corporate news, a partnership between Bosch Security Systems and OnSSI is driving greater product integration capabilities between Bosch IP video devices and the Ocularis IP video surveillance and security platform. Ocularis v3.6 now supports edge recording and new high definition cameras from Bosch.

In applications news, Brazilian transport manufacturer Randon Group has selected IndigoVision to provide an IP video security solution for its assembly plant in Guaralhos. The project required reusing existing security camera hardware as well as offering the latest IP camera technology. Over in the Dominican Republic, the Government’s Ministry of the Presidency has awarded Hytera a radio communications project, which will see TETRA radio implemented in the Santo Domingo area. Finally, Matrix will launch its Office-in-a-Box solution NAVAN CNX200 at NigeriaCom 2013.
