In corporate news, Thales UK and Intellect have announced the launch of a project to identify and trial new technologies that can be used to enhance aviation security. To start the week, we have a mixed bag of corporate, tradeshow and application news.

First up, Milestone and Bosch have announced their union under the ONVIF umbrella as they integrate network IP solutions. To improve identity management, Black Diamond Advanced Technology has delivered a ruggedised, biometric identity-management system to Northrop Grummana. At Nanyang Technology, LEGIC’s contactless smart card technology has been installed to offer a flexible and secure access control system.

In events news, Asian Securitex 2010 returned and drew 10,587 trade and business visitors from throughout the region to see 600 exhibitors from a total of 34 countries. On today’s round up we have application news galore from across the globe.

At the top of the pile, we head to Aspen/Pitkin Country Airport where Quantum Secure’s SAFE biometric solution has been chosen to enhance physical access and identity management. In Bulgaria, the Municipal Agency gets secured thanks to VIVOTEK’s surveillance solution.

We move onto Dallas Love Field Airport in Texas where Avigilon’s surveillance system has been installed. Following the success of the installation, it is now being used to help Latin American airport executives to learn about successful airport modernisation projects. In Northern Johannesburg M1011 CCTV camera allows Chefs to do what they do best – cook a scrumptious meal.

Lastly, we finish the round up in Cardiff where Romad has donated its security solution for protection of volunteers at Cancer Research UK.

We start the Monday news round-up with an announcement from Aurora and Technetix who have joined forces  in bid to widen the market for their surveillance solutions in Europe. Also in the corporate news, Honeywell Security Group EMEA has appointed Johnny Allia as new vice president and general manager.

In Israel’s security market G4S has  licensed VideoCells’ Web Video Recorder to offer Israel’s residential and small business customers a new service.  At Luxemburg airport Speed Identity biometric solution is set to enhance the airport security measures.  And last but not least, New Jersey Performing Arts Centre has opted for NAV’s integrated video surveillance solution to secure the centre. It’s Monday morning and to start off the week we have a news release from Avigilon who are riding on a high as an independent review gives their HD surveillance systems top marks. In South Africa The ASL Safety & Security’s IP based public address and voice alarm equipment secures the Gautrain. In IFSEC news, CEM announces that it will be showcasing its new portable fingerprint reader and demonstrating some exciting access control solutions. And lastly, in a major CCTV upgrade, Eurotunnel’s French passenger terminal has deployed a widely distributed IP Video solution from IndigoVision.

For today’s news bite countdown we start with strong words from SIA spoken against the New Hampshire legislature set to ban all uses of biometrics for government or private use, SIA voices opposition.  In other news, Verint’s video security technology ensures passenger safety onboard TransLink vehicles and the UK Government stresses importance on counter-terror message at meeting with BSIA. To conclude, a new from IMS Research predicts 10 per cent growth in 2010 in Middle East market for CCTV and video surveillance.

We are back with your daily round up of our top news.  At the top of the pile there is an announcement from Panasonic as it reports back on its success at this year’s BETT 2010 show. From CEM comes an government application where it’s cost-effective access control solution proves to be more than successful. The Integrated System Europe tradeshow reports on the great success of the show with a 14.4 per cent rise in attendees.

And finally, Integrated Biometrics secures a Lenel factory certificate for its biometric access control solution.
