In today’s news round-up, Vanderbilt Industries has entered into an agreement to acquire Siemens’ Security Products business. The business will be renamed Vanderbilt International and Joseph J. Grillo will be Managing Director, working from the new operational headquarters in Germany. In other corporate news, MasterCard and Zwipe have launched the world’s first contactless payment card featuring an integrated fingerprint sensor. The card also includes the Zwipe secure biometric authentication technology that holds the cardholder’s biometric data.

In today’s news round-up, Genetec has announced it will be showcasing its Security Center, Omnicast, Synergis and AutoVu products at ASIS 2014. Visitors to the Genetec booth will be able to see the integration of Security Center with select camera and hardware partners. In application news, Winsted Corporation has completed a modular console, which will be used to aid research and development of nuclear control room technology. Winsted teamed up with the Center of Safe and Secure Nuclear Energy (CSSNE) on the project. Also in application news, Infragreen A/S has selected Opengear technology to streamline its site deployment processes and troubleshooting. Infragreen plans to establish three strategically centred data campus sites close to Oslo.

In today’s news round-up, Milestone System has released the XProtect Access Control Module 2014. This is an add-on product for partners and customers using Milestone video surveillance solutions. It enables easy integration of third-party access control systems with Milestone video surveillance solutions, and will be shown at the Milestone booth at IFSEC 2014 in London 17 – 19 June. Also at the show will be Wavestore’s open platform Video management software.
