On today’s news round-up, we take a look at security installations, which have been implemented around the world. Starting in New Zealand, CEM Systems has announced that its security management system has been selected to secure Farmers fashion department stores. Over in the city of London, a major banking facility has chosen Ingersoll Rand’s steel doorsets to refurbish the facility. Moving on to California, the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Airport has implemented a NICE Systems situation management solution to help with the coordination of the hub for all Los Angeles International airport’s operations and response activities.

Taking a look at events news, according to organisers of  this year’s Moscow International Exhibition Protection, Security and Fires Safety (MIPS), the show has confirmed its position as the largest and most well-established exhibition for the security industry in Eastern Europe and Russia in a market that has recovered well from the economic crisis. To start the mid-week round-up, we begin with news from the organisers of this year’s Transport Security Expo, who have announced that following the capture and death of Osama Bin Laden, the show will be focusing on aviation security and the security of global supply chains networks across the globe. At the upcoming IFSEC 2011 show, Harper Chalice will be showcasing its perimeter protection system, which was confirmed as the most secure and stable technology of its kind on the market in independent UK Government trials in 2010. Optex Europe will also be promoting a wide array of wireless intrusion systems for residential properties at the show.

In application news, Geutebruck has been chosen to supply new video security systems for 1,200 local branches of Germany’s second largest bank, the Commerzbank AG. Lastly, HID Global’s credential and reader solutions have been selected by Banco do Nordeste do Brasil (BNB) to reinforce its access control system for physical access at their administrative offices headquartered in Fortaleza, Ceará.
