In today’s news round-up, MOBOTIX has released details of an installation at Trent Valley Academy in Lincolnshire. Twelve MOBOTIX cameras have been installed to provide base line security covering high traffic areas within the campus and all video is accessible using MOBOTIX Control Centre software. In corporate news, Gallagher has announced that it plans to expand its overseas operations with the opening of a new office in Bangkok at the end of the year.

In application news, Milestone Systems’ IP video management system has been integrated with EIA Inc.’s ShotSpotter gunshot detection to help the Nassau County Police Department in New York fight criminal firearm activity. The solution uses ShotSpotter’s sensors to locate gunshots in the coverage area of the surveillance cameras. Over in Canada, thermal, fixed dome and pan/tilt/zoom cameras from Axis Communications have been deployed at the 101th Grey Cup Festival in Regina, Saskatchewan. The solution will protect visitors and volunteers of the five-day festival. Finally, Cassidian has been selected to upgrade the German Armed Forces’ identification systems to NATO’s new “Mode 5” IFF standard. Read more security news…
