On today’s news round-up, Malca-Amit UK, a leading provider of secure logistical solutions and full operational services for companies dealing with precious commodities, has deployed the Avigilon high-definition surveillance system at its new UK warehouse and corporate office to protect and safeguard its clients’ precious cargo. In Latin America, Itautec, a manufacturer/integrator of consumer electronics, banking and retail automation, is now deploying the first 12,000 units of a 33,000-unit ATM network with Lumidigm’s multispectral fingerprint readers for one of Latin America’s largest private banks. Over in Sardinia, IndigoVision has completed a security upgrade at the Villa Devoto, the seat of local government in Sardinia, which is also home to institutional office of the Sardinian President.

In other news, Hikvision has been named as the No.1 global vendor of CCTV and video surveillance equipment in 2011 in a recent IMS Research report. On today’s weekly round-up, Bosch Security Systems staff has completed a 20 mile sponsored walk in support of Children In Need. The theme of the charity walk was a “monopoly” route, which covered various locations around London at which Bosch security equipment has been installed. Over in Saudi Arabia, Avigilon has announced that King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA), the country’s third largest airport, has deployed the Avigilon HD Surveillance System to capture, review and store indisputable evidence for quick and successful investigations and management. In the US, IQinVision has also announced that Edwardsville Community Unit 7 District Schools have installed an array of IQeye indoor and outdoor HD megapixel IP cameras throughout the school district.

In corporate news, security products provider Panasonic System Network Europe (PSNE) has appointed Giuseppe Cinquemani as Sales Manager for the South East Area.
