In today’s news round-up, ASSA ABLOY Group brands SARGENT and McKinney have been honoured with Product Innovation Awards (PIAs) at this year’s Greenbuild 2013. SARGENT was awarded for its BHW Trim and IN120 WiFi Access Control Lock, and McKinney for its new Square Barrel Hinge. In events news, SANS Brussels will present four security training courses covering network penetration testing, forensic investigations, intrusion detection and security essentials.

Over in Brazil, Cassidian has announced details of its new Brazilian subsidiary, Optronbras Ltda. Optronbras will build up its own engineering and manufacturing structures, as well as enter the local market for optical and optronic devices. In corporate news, Pilgrims Group has appointed David Peploe as Director of Global Operations. Peploe’s background includes seventeen years in military and government roles and thirteen years in corporate risk management. In today’s weekly news round-up, G4S Fire & Security Systems (UK) has launched its new seamless integration with ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio range. The integration allows security and IT managers to conveniently and cost effectively replace existing manual locks. In corporate news, TDSi has appointed three new apprentices to its Finance, Product Development and Operations departments. Stephanie Herridge, Amanda Wright and Hannah Collins will experience hands-on learning and training in a real business environment.

Over in China, Dahua Technology has moved to a new corporate base in Hangzhou. The new premise covers an area of 100,000 square metres, housing R&D, sales and administration departments, as well as manufacturing facilities. In application news, Dallmeier’s Panomera technology has been installed in the Allianz Arena in Munich. The multifocal sensor technology secures the North and South ends of the stadium. Finally, CCTV cameras from Wavesight captured a group of youths bending a previously vandalised bike-rack back into position in crystal-clear quality. In today’s news round-up, G4S Fire & Security Systems (UK) has launched its new seamless integration with ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio range of wireless locks. The integration allows security and IT managers to conveniently and cost effectively replace existing manual locks. Over in Kuwait, Tavcom has announced that 180 students have completed its CCTV & Control Room Operations training course. The course is part of a comprehensive two-year training programme for individuals who are looking to take on security roles within the gas and oil market sector.

In events news, Navtech Radar will demonstrate its AdvanceGuard wide area surveillance solution at TranSec 2013. The AdvanceGuard solution enables sites under surveillance to be divided into multiple zones with varying threat and detection levels. In corporate news, Andrew Thomas of CCTV Factory has been awarded the 2013  Barnsley & Rotherham chamber award. Despite being just 12 months old, the company has now achieved a turnover of £100,000 and has begun to manufacture its own range of security products. In today’s news round-up, ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire Mercor SA’s fire doors section. A leading manufacturer of security and fire doors in Eastern Europe, Mercor has a strong market position in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Over in Morocco, AxxonSoft and its distributor for Northern Africa and the Middle East, New Matic, have recently held a workshop for their regional partners. AxxonSoft launched the Regional Partners Training event to update their partners on the latest AxxonSoft products.

In corporate news, Security Regulation Alliance Chairman and Chief Executive of the BSIA James Kelly has called for unanimous support of the proposed new regulatory regime for the private security industry. In a letter to Government Ministers, Kelly expressed the industry’s frustration with the continued delays in preparing the necessary legislative groundwork for the implementation of a new regulatory regime. In other corporate news, an Axis Security Officer has won the “Service to the Community and Excellent Work” award in the annual North West Leeds Divisional Police Awards. The awards recognise the industry’s most innovative new technologies. In corporate news, Traka has appointed 16 new resellers in 2013, including 10 in Europe and 5 in Asia. 2013 has seen the highest rate of reseller appointments for Traka, which aims to continue to expand its international growth.

In application news, WEETECH’s head office has upgraded to an access control system that combines ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio technology with Siemens SiPass security. WEETECH chose Aperio to coincide with the already existing SiPass system to create a single, comprehensive solution. In other application news, EE has selected Nedap’s AEOS access control platform to upgrade its existing system, with the installation to be carried out by Nedap’s partner, Reliance High Tech. Finally, toll-road operator Jasa Marga has recently deployed 70 VIVOTEK  IP cameras. VIVOTEK’s IP8335H 1-megapixel network bullet cameras were installed outside of toll stations to monitor traffic.
