In today’s news round-up, Security Essen 2014 marked its 40th anniversary with more than 1,000 exhibitors from around the world. For the first time, the premier global fair in Essen offered more than 40 market segments from mechanical and digital security technology via fire protection and video surveillance, right up to IT security and counter-terrorism. The CISA eSIGNO Contactless Lock range allows guests to unlock their doors by simply holding a card up to the reader. The 7.7 version includes National Language Support, meaning the software can be easily adapted to various languages without code changes. In today’s news round-up, Genetec has announced it will be showcasing its Security Center, Omnicast, Synergis and AutoVu products at ASIS 2014. Visitors to the Genetec booth will be able to see the integration of Security Center with select camera and hardware partners. In application news, Winsted Corporation has completed a modular console, which will be used to aid research and development of nuclear control room technology. Winsted teamed up with the Center of Safe and Secure Nuclear Energy (CSSNE) on the project. Also in application news, Infragreen A/S has selected Opengear technology to streamline its site deployment processes and troubleshooting. Infragreen plans to establish three strategically centred data campus sites close to Oslo.
