In today’s news round-up, with Conference season upon us, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has been busy championing the views of the private security industry; planning and attending meetings with MPs, Ministers, Peers, PCCs and think tanks at the Labour and Conservative party conferences. With Security Essen now over, the next security tradeshow is just about to begin: ASIS International kicks off today in Atlanta, Georgia. In today’s news round-up, Axis Communications and Wavestore have formed a new technology partnership which will see full interoperability between their respective video solutions. The partnership has so far provided clothing retailer SuperGroup with a new solution to replace its outdated legacy video surveillance systems. In application news, Alpro Architectural Hardware door closers have been installed at The Philip Morant School and College in Colchester, UK. Alpro’s overhead transom closers used on the school doors are a means of hydraulically controlling the opening and closing of an aluminium door.

In today’s news round-up, Genetec has announced it will be showcasing its Security Center, Omnicast, Synergis and AutoVu products at ASIS 2014. Visitors to the Genetec booth will be able to see the integration of Security Center with select camera and hardware partners. In application news, Winsted Corporation has completed a modular console, which will be used to aid research and development of nuclear control room technology. Winsted teamed up with the Center of Safe and Secure Nuclear Energy (CSSNE) on the project. Also in application news, Infragreen A/S has selected Opengear technology to streamline its site deployment processes and troubleshooting. Infragreen plans to establish three strategically centred data campus sites close to Oslo.
