At Singapore’s first major and biggest suburban mall, Bosch dome and PTZ cameras have been installed to offer a discreet accessible network surveillance system. In the US, Tornado chasers have chosen OnSSI’s Ocularis video management software to simplify capture of multiple high-definition video images of tornadoes and severe weather.

In other news, AMG-Panogenics megapixel cameras have been integrated with the Cathexis CatVision IP Surveillance Software Suite to offer clients a holistic surveillance solution. On this mid-week round-up, we focus on the latest in security applications. First up, Milestone has reported that its video management software solution has been installed in the Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa as part of an upgrade to the hotel’s security. In Germany, utility provider Stadftwerke Parchim has deployed Alvarion’s CCTV transmission system to help monitor their network of utilities substations at all times and in any weather conditions. Axis network cameras have been installed in the fashion store, Pulp, to improve the security and profitability of the store.

At Jaguar Land Rover’s site in Liverpool, Traka’s electronic access management system has been chosen to manage over 200 fork trucks and other material. Lastly, since its inception in 2008 the uptake of the ONVIF standard for network video has grown at a rapid rate.
