In today’s news round-up, Samsung’s IP network video surveillance system has been deployed to secure Gingerbread Corner, a childcare centre in Croydon, Surrey. Samsung’s system replaces an existing outdated analogue CCTV system, with a total of 21 Samsung cameras installed, 16 of which are SND-3082 Day/Night network domes. The SND-3082 features Power over Ethernet (PoE), meaning that both power and video/audio transmissions can be provided via a single Ethernet cable connected to Gingerbread Corner’s network. In corporate news, Nedap recently featured its renowned AEOS training in Dubai Silicon Oasis, United Arab Emirates. Partners from within the GCC region participated in the training week to acquire the required certifications for their engineers and sales consultants. Nedap offers courses for anyone who uses, implements or sells AEOS Security Management systems.

In other corporate news, following its most successful IFSEC to date, UTC Fire and Security in the UK has confirmed a new series of technology workshops. The forthcoming sessions will cover intruder solutions, fire, and digital video and transmission. Over in Sweden, Axis Communications has evolved its Application Development Partner programme by extending its range of localised and customer solutions. The ADP programme is a cornerstone of the partner network and of key importance to Axis.  Finally, AirLive will showcase its BC-5010 outdoor wireless IP camera at this year’s Computex 2013, which opened yesterday in Taiwan.
