In today’s news round-up, Dahua Technology has the 2nd largest market share in video surveillance according a report by IHS. Dahua’s global market share in terms of DVR and network security cameras were ranked as runner-up and 4th place respectively. Also in corporate news, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has reinforced the role played by security firms in delivering cost savings to police forces across the UK. Continued partnerships between the police and private security firms have helped forces across the country reduce costs in the face of public sector budget cuts, the BSIA said.

Over in France, Videotec has moved its French branch of business to the outskirts of Paris. Previously based close to Rouen, the branch is now moving to the “Parc d’Activité de Courtabœuf”, one of the largest industrial areas to the south of the capital. Across the Atlantic, ADT has closed the acquisition of Reliance Protectron from Reliance Comfort Limited Partnership in Canada. The acquisition will significantly strengthens ADT’s business in Canada. Finally, the Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) has elected Mohammad Soleimani, CTO and Executive Vice President of Kastle Systems, as its Chairman. The company hopes that its participation as a Steering Member will accelerate the worldwide migration to HD surveillance. In application news, ADT has supplied Leicester City Football Club’s stadium with an IP CCTV security system to replace the stadium’s previous analogue security system. On today’s news round-up, the Undersea Defence Technology (UDT) 2011, which took place at Excel London from 6-7 June, was visited by a large number of delegates from 47 countries.
