In application news, Samsung Techwin’s network dome cameras have been installed at Europe’s largest indoor trampoline arena in Manchester. Also in application news, Milestone Systems’ open platform IP video management technology is helping Taminco USA to manage employee safety and to uphold federal regulations for the production and transportation of hazardous materials. Over in Indonesia, 200 VIVOTEK surveillance cameras have been installed at Sido Muncul, the country’s leading producers of health drinks and products.

In today’s news round-up, Milestone Systems has elevated Samsung Techwin to the status of Elite Partner in the Milestone Camera Partner Program (CaPP). Samsung is only one of eight Milestone camera partners in the world to achieve this status. In corporate news, ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire Digi Electronic Lock, the leading digital door lock manufacturer in China. The acquisition is another strategic step in ASSA ABLOY’s expansion into new growth segments in China and other emerging markets.

In today’s news round-up, LEGIC welcomes VISPIRON as a new partner in the field of mobility solutions. LEGIC’s 4000 series reader chip will be integrated into card readers for VISPIRON’s system. In application news, ASSA ABLOY has secured a contract to supply products for Birmingham Dental Hospital & School of Dentistry. An array of ASSA products will be supplied to the project, including ASSA’s robust, high security P600 cylinders, as well as cam motion door closers that will fulfil the Equality Act 2010.

Over in Norway, Navtech has received feedback from around Scandinavia regarding the ClearWay solution it supplied for Mastrafjord Tunnel and Byfjord Tunnel. The solution is part of a recently completed tunnel refurbishment project. In today’s weekly news round-up, Vanderbilt Industries recently announced that it will focus its market identity on the Vanderbilt name brand. Following Vanderbilt Industries’ announcement of the pending acquisition of Siemens’ Security Products, the new entity, renamed Vanderbilt International GmbH, will begin to utilise the Vanderbilt name, creating a common company brand identity for both the North American and European business units. Also in corporate news, Schneider Electric has partnered with ASSA ABLOY Access Control UK to enhance its Continuum building management system. ASSA ABLOY’s latest Aperio® wireless cylinders, PINpad escutcheon and L100 have been integrated into the Schneider Electric access control product line.

In application news, Traka has installed a smart access management system at one of the UK’s leading rail companies, Southeastern. Traka developed a bespoke access management system in which keys are permanently attached to an iFob, which locks into an automated key dispensing machine. Also in the UK, IDIS has announced the appointment of Billy Hopkins to the role of Regional Sales Manager. Billy will manage distribution sales in South East England to meet increased demand for next generation DirectIP™ high-definition (HD) surveillance solutions. Lastly, Genetec recently announced a new partnership with automated payment systems manufacturer VenTek. Over in Brazil, ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire lock company Silvana and steel fire door company Metalika. The acquisitions significantly increase the Group’s footprint in Brazil. Also recently merged are Tyco International Ltd. and Tyco International plc, a company incorporated under the laws of Ireland. As a result of the merger, each shareholder of Tyco International Ltd. received one share of Tyco International plc for each share of Tyco International Ltd. held immediately prior to the merger. Finally, in events news, OPTEX will be exhibiting its complete detection and access control solutions at the upcoming Transport Security Expo next week. In today’s news round-up, HID Global recently announced the addition of new strategic partners who have joined the company’s Enterprise Application Partners programme, further expanding the ecosystem of available products that are powered by award-winning Seos technology. In application news, Caterham High School in the UK has recently installed a remotely monitored security system supplied by specialist infrared CCTV supplier, Basson Group. The products fitted were from Basson’s range of long-distance IR cameras, monitored by Kent-based CCTV and Alarm Monitoring company, FLR Spectron.
