In today’s news round-up, IdenTrust® (part of HID Global®) announced that it has achieved U.S. Federal Bridge Authority (US FBCA) cross-certification at Basic, Medium Software, Medium Hardware, and PIV-I Assurance levels with its IGC PKI certificate. IGC PKI certificates are a critical component of converged physical and logical access credentials that are compliant with PIV-I and PIV-C standards. In other news, Pelco recently announced that they are strengthening their relationship with Avaya to deliver superior performance and simplicity to IP video security and surveillance customers. This global alliance partnership will enable deeper collaboration on technology development and interoperability, providing customers with a network platform optimised for demanding video surveillance systems.

In the UK, the British Security Industry Association has announced that the Business Crime Conference will take place in London this November. The event will give businesses the opportunity to learn more about reducing their security risk. Over in Germany, ONVIF recently hosted its 11th Developers’ Plugfest. With record numbers of interoperability implementations and multiple testings of ONVIF conformant video, access control and edge devices, this year’s Developers’ Plugfest was the most fruitful in ONVIF’s history. In today’s news round-up, Hikvision has been selected to provide comprehensive security solutions to safeguard the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Hundreds of Hikvision megapixel network cameras and speed domes have been successfully applied to ensure a safer environment for local citizens and visiting tourists. In application news, HID Global’s physical access control solutions have been deployed by Norway Post. Norway Post deployed Genuine HID® multiCLASS SE® readers and multi-technology cards at its Robsrud Terminal, from where more than 60 percent of all the mail in Norway is handled.

In corporate news, Agent Vi is offering a free online training and certification program for its new savVi video analytics platform. The program includes 6 hours of online content including an online certification exam that will grant the trainees a “Certified” status. In other application news, Meyertech has provided its ONVIF conformant FUSION-Core-Solar VMS to the Hammersmith and Fulham Council in the UK. The Council’s CCTV system has more than 800 cameras comprising a mixture of fixed and PTZ cameras used to cover town centres and housing estates.
