In today’s news round-up, TDSi is working alongside its Vietnamese security integration partner GTCSI (Giang Viet System Integrated Corp) to offer the latest security and access control systems to the growing Vietnamese and Cambodian security market. Over in South America, ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire ODIS Limitada in Chile. Established in 1930, ODIS Limitada is a leading supplier of access control products to the Chilean market. In application news, Axis Communications have committed to keep Chicago’s Stratford Square Mall secure throughout the holidays with various Axis camera models. The cameras also enable the mall security team to cooperate with specific stores and the local police department in identifying and prosecuting criminals. Finally, PSA Security Network has announced a vendor partnership with CheckVideo. Also in corporate news, PSA Security Network recently announced a new vendor partnership with Alertus Technologies. The Alertus Notification System provides “one-touch” instant command and control of all enterprise alerting modalities throughout large area, high-occupancy facilities.

Over in Brazil, ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire lock company Silvana and steel fire door company Metalika. The acquisitions significantly increase the Group’s footprint in Brazil. Also recently merged are Tyco International Ltd. and Tyco International plc, a company incorporated under the laws of Ireland. As a result of the merger, each shareholder of Tyco International Ltd. received one share of Tyco International plc for each share of Tyco International Ltd. held immediately prior to the merger. Finally, in events news, OPTEX will be exhibiting its complete detection and access control solutions at the upcoming Transport Security Expo next week. As the industry prepares for Security Essen 2010, we bring you the latest news from it. Members of the British Security Industry Association will be showcasing an exclusive preview of the access control systems at the show, while ONVIF has confirmed that it will be hosting a demonstration of interoperable IP surveillance products there on October 7. In addition, ABUS will introduce two new network digital recorders at the show.
