On today’s news round-up, we take a look at security installations, which have been implemented around the world. Starting in New Zealand, CEM Systems has announced that its security management system has been selected to secure Farmers fashion department stores. Over in the city of London, a major banking facility has chosen Ingersoll Rand’s steel doorsets to refurbish the facility. Moving on to California, the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Airport has implemented a NICE Systems situation management solution to help with the coordination of the hub for all Los Angeles International airport’s operations and response activities.

Taking a look at events news, according to organisers of  this year’s Moscow International Exhibition Protection, Security and Fires Safety (MIPS), the show has confirmed its position as the largest and most well-established exhibition for the security industry in Eastern Europe and Russia in a market that has recovered well from the economic crisis. Lastly, ASIS International has launched a call for the submissions of presentations for its 11th European Security Conference & Exhibition, which will take place in London on 15-17 April 2012. With IFSEC 2011 just days away, we take a look at some of the highlights that will be exhibited at the show. Promise Technology will be showcasing a range of RAID storage solutions, optimised for storing huge data streams within video surveillance projects of any size. At the Wavestore stand, taking centre stage will be its open platform technology, which incorporates video analytics, motion detection and facial recognition. The new facial recognition system from Visimetrics will also be highlighted at the show. For those interested in access control solutions, SALTO will be showcasing a number of new access control products.

In other news, in the London Borough of Sutton in the UK, MOBOTIX’s high-resolution IP cameras have been deployed to help residents reduce congestion at the Kimpton Park Way Re-use and Recycling centre. Over in India, HID Global’s network access control and biometric reader solutions have been selected by the Dental Council of India (DCI) to streamline their time and attendance management system. On today’s news round-up, Chubb has installed ADPRO PRO series detectors from Xtralis to enhance security at a leading sofa and furniture business. New names are in order for Optelecom-NKF following a merger with the Dutch company, TKH Group. In the EMEA market it will be known as Siqura B.V. and to effectively market the existing Siqura and Optelecom brands as well as the TKH Security Solutions offering in the Americas, the Optelecom-NKF US office will be renamed as TKH Security Solutions USA Inc.
