In today’s news round-up, Samsung Techwin’s Professional Security Division has introduced an Advanced Replacement service for its products. The service allows products that develop a fault during the first year of their three year warranties to be replaced within 48 hours of receiving the request. In corporate news, HID Global announced the opening of its new World Headquarters and North American Operations Centre in Austin, Texas. The new facility will consolidate the company’s corporate, manufacturing, assembly and test, distribution, and sales operations.

In other corporate news, Wavestore has appointed Geoff Bowers as Business Development Manager. Geoff will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities for Wavestore’s open platform VMS. In events news, Counter Terror Expo, which takes place on the 29th-30th April in London will feature speakers representing the Home Office, emergency services, government departments, NATO, NGOs and the private sector. The event is organised around six themes including “Global Counter Terrorism” and “Securing Public Spaces”. Finally, SSAIB has appointed Malcolm Craighead to its newly created post of Compliance and Scheme Manager. Malcolm is responsible for the upkeep of its UKAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17021 2011.
