Looking back at the top stories of the week, we begin with some events news. At the much-anticipated IFSEC 2011, Samsung will be showing off its ‘Samsung City’ concept on its largest booth ever. Basler announced that it will be featuring its new fixed IP domes with audio functionality at the upcoming ISC West 2011. The ISE 2011 show proved to be a great success this year as it attracted a record 34,870 industry professionals. Pivot3 has joined forces with Genetec and Arecont Vision to host a series of one-day educational events throughout Europe to provide an opportunity to learn about the benefits of an integrated IP solution.

In other news, ADT’s electronic fire and security solutions were installed at Dublin Airport’s new Terminal 2 (T2) to enable visitors to stay safe and have a pleasant experience travelling through the airport. IMS Research reported that local companies would dominate the Chinese security systems integration market within the next few years. Lastly, according to GB Monitoring’s Operations Director, Tom Smith, many councils across the UK are facing the prospect of having their manned CCTV monitoring stopped due to budget cuts.
