On today’s news round-up, the director of surveillance operations at several Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurants in Arkansas, USA has chosen to install the MobileCamViewer application from mobiDEOS to keep a 24/7 watch over two locations. Over in Athens, IndigoVision’s integrated IP Video surveillance system is helping to keep traffic flowing smoothly on the Attika Tollway, with hundreds of cameras helping operators identify and respond to problems on the road. In the UK, East Stoke village in Nottinghamshire, which became the first village in the country to win the “Secured by Design” award in March 2011, is now crime-free, thanks to its newly installed IP surveillance system from Mayflex.

In other news, the Secutech Awards have identified the best HD surveillance products on the market. An expert jury and international visitors chose 16 winning products, which included products from Sony, Dahua and Vivotek.
