In today’s weekly news round-up, Ingersoll Rand has won a contract to install its Interflex security software in private accommodation in York. The accommodation project is designed to offer a safe and secure environment for students who attend the University of York. In corporate news, research from the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has highlighted the need for the secure destruction of data. The research was carried out on behalf of the Information Destruction (ID) section of the BSIA and involved a survey which questioned key workers in the healthcare industry.

In events news, Cassidian will showcase its defence and security solutions at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2013), which closes on 30th of March. In other events news, the Counter Terror Expo 2013, which runs from 24th-25th April, will showcase the Global Terrorism Conference. Finally, Axis Communications’ IP-based surveillance system has been installed at OCS’ UK head office in Clapham, South London.
