In application news, a UK military site has chosen VARIO White-Light LED illuminators from Raytec to maintain a high level of security. The illuminators allow the site to inspect vehicles at night, delivering a minimum of 100 lux along the centre line of the road where vehicles enter. In corporate news, a new report from IHS entitled “The Asian Distribution Market for Video Surveillance Equipment” reveals that the supply of CCTV and video surveillance equipment in Asia by distributors is highly fragmented. The report estimates that the top 10 distributors in Asia accounted for only just over a tenth of the market in 2012.
