In today’s news round-up, following its work on The Shard last year, ASSA ABLOY Security Doors UK is now supplying its high security steel doorsets to its sister building which together, form the London Bridge Quarter development. More than 300 fire and acoustic steel doorsets will be installed throughout the new building. In corporate news, HID Global has partnered with Oberthur Technologies, one of the world’s largest providers of security and identification solutions and services based on smart card technologies, providing them with the ability to support the use of Seos digital keys on NFC-enabled smart cards.

In other corporate news, VIVOTEK has announced the successful completion of the first round of the VIVOTEK Expert Certificate Program (VEC). Starting from March, 24 training workshops have rolled out in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia. More than 300 distributors and SI partners from 19 countries have participated. In application news, Axis Communications and Mirasys have supplied a fully integrated IP surveillance solution at Smyths Toys Superstores. Unique features such as corridor format provided excellent views of the aisles and high quality images and reduced the number of cameras they required as well as the amount of unwanted data. Finally, J&S Franklin recently announced the completion of two further contracts to integrate DefenCell Profile 300 to as yet undisclosed UK critical infrastructure sites. In a contract worth in excess of £50,000 the DefenCell Profile300 has successfully been integrated into existing street security architecture in two UK Cities providing discreet protection to these buildings.
