In today’s weekly news round-up, ASSA ABLOY has been ranked 78th in Forbes’ list of the world’s most innovative companies for 2013. Johan Molin, the company’s President and CEO, says this result is due to the ASSA ABLOY’s substantial investments in innovation over the past seven years. In corporate news, MOBOTIX has reported growth in its revenue and earnings before interest and taxes for the 2012/2013 fiscal year. In the third quarter of the current fiscal year, the group achieved a 15.1% growth in revenue from last year to €22.2 million, with an EBIT margin of nearly 21%.

In events news, TDSi has announced that it will be exhibiting at the APS Specialist Safety/Security Exhibition at the Porte de Versailles in Paris from the 24th to 26th September 2013. Its new EXgarde 4.1 Integrated Access Control software will be among the array of new products on show. Finally, IMS Research has advised that despite the increased buzz surrounding mobile technologies and wireless locks, it is the less sensational trends, such as encryption and multi-technology readers, which are taking centre stage in the access control market. The company estimated the global multi-technology reader market to be worth an estimated $33 million in 2012, up from $30 million in 2011.
