On today’s round-up, we focus on corporate news from the latest security partnerships and achievements. artec technologies has announced its cooperation with ViDiCore, the general agent for the intelligent video surveillance cameras by RIVA. Effective immediately, artec will be distributing their comprehensive range of cameras in Germany and some of the neighbouring countries. GEUTEBRUCK and Basler have also entered a partnership; GEUTEBRUCK’s high-end TopLine series will now feature specially-designed Basler IP cameras on a project-by-project basis.

Access control specialist SALTO has announced that its best-selling GEO cylinder lock is now IP66 rated. Now, not only is it fully compatible with most RFID technologies, but can now also be used in all weather environments. At the sixth annual Axis Channel Convergence Conference, Axis Communications presented the 2011 North American Application Development Partner of the Year award to Genetec for the latter’s committed efforts to develop joint opportunities. Over in China, Hikvision announced a contract renewal of Chongqing’s safe city programme, a project to upgrade and expand the city’s security system. Read more security news…

McKee joins the company after a decade of success in the security industry in sales management, marketing and business development assignments. Also in corporate news, Ipsotek’s Tag and Track (TNT) technology has been selected as the winner of the UK finals of the 2011 Global Security Challenge. In application news, Bold Communications has provided public space CCTV monitoring in the post-industrial English town of Oldham.

We begin today’s news round-up with news from the Milipol Paris 2011 exhibition, which opened today at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre. At the show, Hytera and other exhibitors from around the world will be showcasing the latest security technology and equipment from state security to civil protection. In corporate news, the Security Association for the Maritime Industry (SAMI) has announced the selection of the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) as the independent assessing body for their Maritime Security Accreditation Programme.

In application news, Conway Security Products are supplying their vandal-resistant ceiling and wall-mounted camera housings to the Dutch railway network, Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS), for use at underground and overland stations across Holland. Also securing railways are Samsung’s SNV-5010 vandal-resistant network domes, which have recently been approved for use by the European railway industry. Over in the UK, security installer J&F Poulton is now specifying OPTiMAL series detectors from Optex Europe as their core detector on all future projects following successful trials on two sites where other technology had been generating unacceptable levels of false alarms. To begin the working week, we bring you a series of corporate news. Pelco and Navtech Radar have announced the integration of Navtech Radar systems with Pelco video security cameras and systems to provide an outstanding surveillance solution for large areas. CNL Software and Mistral Solutions have also announced a new partnership through which Mistral will add CNL Software’s highly scalable PSIM solution to its existing portfolio of Homeland Security solutions. UK-based OmniPerception has been chosen as a supplier to FCO Services, the Trading Fund of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The framework agreement makes OmniPerception’s unique biometric technology available in approved products and services for FCO Services’ government customers.

Also in Europe, the International Professional Security Association’s 2011 Annual General Meeting was recently held at the Churchill Museum and War Rooms. Over in Hong Kong, TeleEye has donated a RX video recording server and video reception software to support Produce Green Foundation in its surveillance needs. On today’s daily round-up, CBC Europe is celebrating its 40th anniversary and marking the occasion with the release of its brand new 2011-12 CCTV System Product Guide. In application news, SeeTec has made travelling safer at Denmark’s Karup Airport with its cutting edge video surveillance system.  Over in the UK, MOBOTIX’s advanced partner SeSys has helped local police to catch intruders attempting to steal high value metals from Portsmouth City Council’s recycling centre. The SeSys Torch CCTV installed in the premises uses high resolution cameras to cover the entire site, both day and night.

On the other side of the world in a lush hilltop setting in an affluent suburb of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Arecont Vision megapixel video cameras are providing surveillance at the expansive Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club. Over in California, Compro Technology has successfully deployed several of its network cameras at the new day care centre at Christian Life Church, allowing parents to check in on their children from anywhere and at any time. In corporate news, SoleraTec and Hie Electronics have joined forces to provide product compatibility and interoperability. This integration delivers overarching video surveillance asset management to an entire surveillance infrastructure. Also looking to improve services, the BSIA has appointed Trevor Elliott as the new Director of Manpower and Membership Services, thanks to his expertise and successful track record in the security industry.

In application news, Raytec’s Infra-Red LED lighting technology has been deployed at Tunnel Dam in Missouri to ensure 24-hour CCTV surveillance. Also, Cassidian has announced that it will provide its award-winning cryptography products in the Middle East.
