In today’s news round-up, IHS reported that global unit shipments of smart cards are expected to rise by 2.1 billion from 2014 through 2019 — about equal to the combined populations of China, the United States, Indonesia and Brazil. In today’s news round-up, Cobham successfully deployed its SOLO 4 Wireless Transmitter and PRORXB receive system for live television coverage of the Abu Dhabi Yacht Club’s Ghanada Dhow Sailing Championship on 7 June. In conjunction with GloCom SNG, Cobham installed transmitters on two race event chase boats, a helicopter, a receive and transmit ship and onshore receive systems at the ADYC headquarters and ‘Nation Towers’. In application news, Guide Dogs Victoria (GDV) of Australia has chosen IndigoVision’s solution to help monitor its whelping and birthing suites. A combination of IndigoVision’s BX cameras, Control Center Software and a Compact NVR were deployed to create a system offering High Definition video locally on site, while allowing staff to view a Standard Definition stream remotely.
