Looking back at the top news of the week, Bosch was ranked as number one in the video encoders and DVRs market by a recent IMS Research report. On board the “Greenest Ship on the Seas” – the Havila Venus – Vicon’s PTZ dome cameras were installed as part of a state-of-the-art surveillance system. Over in California, the Chapman Medical Centre deployed an upgraded security system from ISO Integration, which allows newly installed IP cameras from Avigilon to operate alongside existing analogue cameras at the hospital.

Today, we bring you news of several product integrations and improvements. Dallmeier’s H.264 digital video recorders are now integrated with Dorlet’s DASS management software, providing increased functionality. LEGIC has entered into a license agreement with Lenel Systems, allowing the integration of LEGIC’s advant technology for contactless identification with Lenel’s security solutions for a wide variety of applications.

In other news, SALTO and GES Security have won multiple contracts to upgrade existing access control systems in several Hargreaves Group properties in the South East of England. We begin with Axis Communications, who has released a demo showing the benefits of increased image resolution in HDTV/megapixel network cameras. A team of former executives from Pelco are drawing on years of experience and expertise and have started a consulting firm targeting the video and security industry. Cassidian is also looking to strengthen its consulting capabilities and customer base by acquiring Regency Ltd.

The HDcctv Alliance has approved the Compliance Certification Process to enable video surveillance products to display the HDcctv logo. This indicates interoperability per version 1.0 of the HDcctv standard. Arecont Vision products are also certified; the IP camera company’s products are now Intransa VideoAppliance SELECT ELITE Partner Certified.
